Reality-based games
Florent Maurin describes his creations as reality-based games. In a certain sense, an interactive game may recall a journalistic account, familiarising the audience with matters and problems they weren’t aware of, making it easier to understand them. But it differs in that it provides access not to a ready image, but to a system showing how the phenomena under discussion work in practice, and allowing experimentation with them. This new form, suspended between interactive play and journalism, is particularly well suited to the needs of contemporary audiences.
