Aslak Sira Myhre

Culture administrator and politician, Director of the National Library of Norway since 2014. Previously, he was an executive at !Les, an association encouraging children and young adults to read, and the director of Litteraturhuset (House of Literature) in Oslo. Myhre has published articles in the Guardian and the Washington Post. He is currently involved in innovative digitization projects related to the use of the IIIF technology and artificial intelligence. The National Library of Norway has the experience and technology to digitise and make available almost half a million books. The institution's plans are to digitise every Norwegian book ever published and to extend this initiative to other languages.
